Hi, I’m Aimee, founder of Empower Me — a movement born from a deeply personal journey of transformation, healing, and purpose. For over 15 years, I worked in the banking industry serving customers, staff, the community and the wider Bank’s mission of “Help is what we do”. I loved helping people, especially through community workshops where I taught families how to manage their finances and use money as a tool to live their dreams. But in 2016, life began to shift. My health was deteriorating, I was burning out, and the fast-paced life I had been chasing no longer felt soul-aligned.
Then everything changed. In 2017, after a series of wake-up calls — including a health scare, the passing of my husband’s grandmother, and a fading passion for my work, my family remembered a dream we had always talked about: to take our twin boys on an overseas experience, when they turned ten. That year, they were turning ten. The very same night that we were at Bill’s grandmother’s funeral, Bill had an epiphany of wanting to immerse himself in Tuvalu to learn his culture and language to honour his grandmother. We made the bold decision to sell everything and take off with only an intention to follow what felt soul good and to become the best versions of ourselves.
With just $30K USD, we traveled the world for 3.5 years, visiting 38 countries with no plan, only purpose. We called it “Chasing the Sun.”
That journey transformed me. I realised that while I had achieved the traditional definition of success (financial freedom by age 30, owning multiple properties), I had been disconnected from my true self. I was living by “brules” — bullsh*t rules — created by systems, society, and generational patterns. The world taught me what I should want, but not who I truly was.
The biggest lesson? If I wanted my children to become the best versions of themselves, I had to become the best version of myself first. Since then, I’ve devoted my life to self-development, deep inner work, and the study of spiritual and psychological tools that help us awaken our authentic selves. Along the way, I discovered a fire in me — a mission to help the next generation break free from disempowering beliefs and live lives filled with purpose, joy, and inner power. Through Empower Me, I now coach individuals and organisations who want to:
Break generational and societal patterns that no longer serve them
Build strong identities and self-awareness
Cultivate values-based cultures at home or at work
Develop a growth mindset rooted in presence and purpose
Ironically, although I’m a certified life coach, I believe we don’t need to raise children who need life coaches. We need to raise children who are empowered from within, and that begins with us.
